Ashley & Aubrey dare to take on the alternative health world and get colonics (i.e tubes inserted “below” to clean out the lower intestines). Hear about Ashley’s experiences at a gross NYC underground location versus Aubrey’s spa-like treatment center. They do it so you don’t have to!

Listen to this: Colonic Challenge!

In case you’re unfamiliar, we’ll let Wikipedia break it down a little for you:

Colon cleansing (also known as colon therapy) encompasses a number of alternative medical therapies claimed to remove nonspecific “toxins” from the colon and intestinal tract. Colon cleansing may be branded colon hydrotherapy, a colonic or colonic irrigation…Some forms of colon hydrotherapy use tubes to inject water, sometimes mixed with herbs or with other liquids, into the colon via the rectum using special equipment”

Yup.  Tube up your butt. (This is why WE do it, so you don’t have to).

Why would I even consider it?  My dear friend Rachelle from Chi Junky told Aubrey and I about colonics, and couldn’t stop raving about them– so I figured…alright. Let’s give this a try.

We had, shall we say…fairly divergent experiences.  Aubs’ was on the more calming, luxurious side, and mine was…well….

I wasn’t fully prepared for how this would go down.

And despite the negatives of my experience, I have to say I loved it. My stomach felt amazingly flat afterwards and my digestion improved. Also, it’s great to go when you are cleansing!
