Maayan and Lauren add their two cents to the recent viral video, “First  Kiss” which gathered 20 strangers (who, conveniently enough, were made up of attractive models and actors) and had them make out with each other. The video sparks a discussion of their own first kisses and some vital lip-locking tips for future make-out sessions.

Listen to this:  Gross and Great First Kisses

So, the internet kinda went nuts over this First Kiss video, getting millions of hits, shares, and generally a lot of web-based gushing.

Thank God, the backlash set in.  Slate had a brilliant piece by Amanda Hess who broke it down for us:

” The video peddles the fantasy that beauty can spring from an unexpected connection between two random people, but what it’s really showing us is the beauty of models making out. It’s like the hipster Bachelor. I doubt that millions of viewers would be so quick to celebrate a video of randos kissing if they were all less thin, hip, stylish, charming, and well-manicured. “

Like Hess, Maayan and Lauren were not enamored with this video, but for very different reasons–Maayan couldn’t relate to the awkwardness, Lauren could relate TOO much.

Despite their overall dislike of the video, it inspired them to take a trip down memory lane and divulge juicy details on THEIR first kisses (spoiler alert–one was AMAZING, one was AWFUL), and also give listeners some key tips for their next make-out session.

By the way, if you’re looking for a, shall we say, palate cleanser–after the First Kiss video, we invite you to watch one of many parodies that were sparked after its debut. The First Hand Job is particularly amusing, especially if you have the humor level of a 15-year-old boy. (And we do.)

Also, this week’s tip from Maayan–don’t throw away your fat pants…you’ll never know when you’ll need them again…jared-pants

and  Lauren encourages to reconsider your hair care regimen if you have fine hair…try a shampoo conditioner switcheroo.
