It’s so easy to make pizza at home. Here’s why: how wrong can you go with dough, cheese, and tomato sauce? Not very. Promise.
Here’s what I do:
- EYE BALL ALL THIS: Take 3 cups of flour, add 2 tsp of salt, 1 envelope of dry yeast, 1 tsp of sugar, 2 tbsp of olive oil, and 1 cup of water. Add the last 1/2 cup slowly until it looks…like a dough. It doesn’t have to be super easy to work with because you’re going to flour the surface you work on. You can let this rise for a few hours, a day…or not at all. Promise.
- Roll it out, put some crushed tomatoes on top, add some cheese, and put it on a hot pizza stone with cornmeal or something underneath it so things don’t stick. I like to put my stone (I’m sure it’ll be fine in a rectagular cookie sheet too) directly at the bottom of the oven at maximum temperature.
- Take it out when it looks done.
Here’s the thing– it can’t be terrible. It simply can’t. If you try it, you’ll see how not bad it is and you’ll love it.
